OEM ODM connector micro coaxial cable assemblies

A standard coaxial cable has four layers: a center conductor, a dielectric insulator, a metallic shield, and an outer jacket. A micro coaxial cable shrinks all four. Where a typical RG-6 cable measures 6.9mm in diameter, micro coax often falls between 0.3mm and 1.0mm. The center conductor can be as thin as 46 AWG—thinner than a human hair. The shield may be a served wire, a braid, or a metallized film, depending on the flexibility and shielding effectiveness required.

As a trading partner working with global B2B clients, we've handled hundreds of micro coax orders. Three failures repeat. First, buying on price alone and discovering the impedance tolerance is ±10% instead of ±5%. Second, ignoring the connector-to-cable interface: a U.FL connector rated for 1.5mm cable won't mate properly with a 0.8mm cable, causing intermittent opens. Third, underestimating bend radius: forcing a 0.5mm cable around a 1mm radius cracks the shield and changes impedance.

We pre-qualify factories on their extrusion tolerance, connector crimp height, and test capability. For project orders, we supply sample assemblies with full S-parameter reports so your engineers can validate performance in the actual device before committing to volume.

If you're sourcing micro coaxial cables for a consumer, medical, or automotive program, start with the electrical requirements—not the price per piece. Tell us the impedance, frequency, connector, and flex requirement. We'll send a material and construction recommendation, plus a sample kit for your lab.
